My name is Genevieve McDaniel, and I'm the Founder of Franchise Reality Check™.

I built this platform because I believe prospective franchisees deserve honesty, not hype. Before starting Franchise Reality Check™, I spent a decade as a multi-unit, 5-Star Domino’s franchisee in the Oklahoma City metro area. I’ve lived the realities of the franchise model from the inside: the excitement, the risk, the investment of time and money, and the trust placed in a franchisor to deliver what they promise.

I’ve also experienced what happens when that trust is broken.

In 2017, I invested in an emerging franchise concept with the hope of growing alongside a brand that was still finding its footing. What began as a promising opportunity became something very different. Critical systems weren’t fully developed, supply chains weren’t in place, and the foundational support a franchisee depends on simply wasn’t there. I closed my doors less than a year after opening, leaving behind my investment, my plans, and a belief in a brand that didn’t live up to what was represented.

That experience changed my life.

In the years that followed, I engaged in a lengthy legal process to advocate for myself and seek accountability. That journey reinforced what I already knew: when it comes to franchising, disclosure doesn’t always equal transparency. The documents can be thick, the language legal, and yet the most important realities may remain unclear to the people who need them most.

Franchise Reality Check™ exists to change that.

This platform pulls back the curtain on what’s often hidden: disclosure documents that raise more questions than they answer, brands that scale before they’re ready, and systems that rely more on franchise fees than proven performance. My goal is to share tools, data, and education that empower you to make informed decisions before signing anything.

Because investing in a franchise shouldn’t require a leap of faith, it should require facts.
